EXPERIENCE

​

With over three years of professional experience as a Furniture Designer in the high-end residential sector, complemented with over five years of continuous experience as a bespoke Furniture Maker of high-end products, my skills enable me to tackle creative, technical and admin tasks for roles as Furniture Designer, CAD Draftsman and FF&E Designer. I am proficient in producing detailed CAD drawings to manufacturing standard. In my most recent employment, I also moved into a Design Manager role.

In my previous ‘all rounder’ role as a Furniture Designer I was responsible for delivering the following:

 

Receiving and analysing client briefs / Site surveying / Ordering and organising material samples and creating schedules / Sourcing and selecting suitable FF&E / Proactively liaising with clients, architects and the production line office abroad to progress designs / Reporting to the company's Sales department to keep track of budgets / Producing detailed CAD drawings / Supervising Junior Designers drafts / Chasing final approval of production drawings from clients before manufacture.

I am eager to stimulate my creativity and continue developing personal speculative projects as well as commissioned pieces for clients from time to time in a workshop space in North London.

BACKGROUND 

​

Before becoming a Furniture Designer I was employed as a Furniture Maker for several workshops in London which has been of great benefit in my furniture designer role. I have also worked on personal speculative projects as well as commissioned pieces and continue to do so from time to time. Before embarking on my career in furniture design and making I undertook a Bespoke Cabinet Design & Making one year course in 2013, taught by award winning Cabinet Maker, Marc Fish in Newhaven. This intensive full time course gave me the opportunity to gain a broad understanding and deep knowledge of furniture and cabinetry principles.

My design career started in graphic design and motion graphics of which I have over ten years of professional experience. I gained a great deal of experience working in a permanent and freelance capacity and became proficient with the Adobe Suite including After-Effects. A strong sense of design aesthetic also allows me to create formal graphic presentations which have a clear and powerful visual impact.
